Our History
Since the beginning in 2004, ShoreConnection has aimed to supply first-class quality, knowledge and service to customers all over the world. Our team consists of experienced engineers and technicians that follow the process from consultancy to verification and certification. Located in Austevoll on the west coast Norway, ShoreConnection is part of a cluster of maritime companies that are considered pioneers in their segments.
Even as a small company, ShoreConnection is established as the leading supplier of Helideck Monitoring Systems and is a CAAi certified supplier. More than 700 vessels and offshore installation have installed our HMS.
ShoreConnection’s Journey: From Humble Beginnings to Industry Leaders
ShoreConnection International AS, a company proudly owned by its employees, has been a pioneer in offshore safety technology since its inception in 2004. Founded by Johnny Rabben and Høglund Marine Automation, the company quickly established itself as a leader in the industry, launching innovative products that set new standards in safety and efficiency. For 20 years, ShoreConnection has continuously evolved and expanded its operations to meet the needs of a dynamic global market.
Early Years
In our early years, we made significant strides, beginning with the delivery of our first commercial Helideck Monitoring System (HMS) in 2004, followed closely by the launch of the revolutionary Deck Motion Monitoring System in 2005. Our commitment to advancing offshore safety was further demonstrated in 2006 with the delivery of our first Power and Fault Control (PFC) system, offering advanced generator protection. By 2007, we had successfully delivered our first commercial Deck Motion Monitoring (DMM) system, cementing our reputation for cutting-edge technology.
The year 2013 marked a significant turning point when ShoreConnection was sold to a new external owner. However, the story took a new and empowering turn in 2020 when our employees purchased the company back, transforming it into a business owned by those most passionate about its success—us, the team.
Charting the Next Chapter
Since then, we’ve continued to build on our legacy, delivering over 700 Helideck Monitoring Systems, and in 2021 launching the HMS 900, a new software developed in-house by our technical experts and fully approved by CAA International.
Today, ShoreConnection stands as a testament to what innovation, dedication, and a deep commitment to safety can achieve. With over 140 units of the new HMS 900 sold, we’re excited about the future and our continued role in shaping the offshore industry’s technological landscape.
